ExpressVPN review in full
ExpressVPN's reputation is built on simplicity. Across Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and even routers, the apps are clean, consistent and almost impossible to get wrong — making it our go-to recommendation for first-time VPN users.
The in-house Lightway protocol keeps connections fast and remarkably stable, reconnecting quickly when you switch networks. UK streaming is a strong point too, with BBC iPlayer, ITVX and Netflix UK all unblocking smoothly in our tests.
Security is exemplary. Every server runs from RAM under ExpressVPN's TrustedServer system, so no data is ever written to disk, and the no-logs policy has been independently audited.
The catch is price: ExpressVPN is one of the costlier options and caps you at eight simultaneous connections. For the polish and reliability on offer, many users will consider that a fair trade.
